Child In Hiding

Somewhere deep, he is a child
Looking for love and warmth
Adult to adult, child to child.
With innocence
He searches for someone;
For his loneliness must end,
His emptiness filled.
In silence he cries like an infant,
Unconsolable, in agony!
He wants criticism no longer,
But understanding.
He seeks not a friend,
But two arms to come crying into
He needs not a teacher to show the way,
But someone who will walk beside
His heart wants to sleep longer,
And fly higher; to be heard when he is silent,
To know less, to feel more;
To just feel safe and comforted when the sun sets,
For somewhere deep, he is still a child.
