Questions Unanswered

What remains when nothing is left.
When conversations are drowned in silence
When a heart no longer beats
What fills the pause before a wave breaks
The moments before one cries
The emptiness love creates
What touches the wind in the trees
The loneliness in the desert
The stillness in the night
What echoes the whistling of the breeze
The songs of the sands
The roaring of the ocean
What goes on
When nothing moves
When time comes to an end
When the world stops
What shines once darkness covers the world
What binds when the day melts into the night
What heals
When all pain is gone...?

Ultimate Surrender

Take away my sunsets walk out of my life
Make me run after you and beg you to stay.
Love me, and then kill me,
Hurt me till I can feel no more,
And then smile my wounds away!
Build my castle of dreams and then trample them under your feet
As you mock and disappear.
Pierce my heart with rebukes and drain the blood away.
Leave me helpless, and dying;
But let me not die!
Get me down on my knees and plead,
But show me no mercy
Make me cry like a child ,till tears turn into blood!
Charm me, then desert me;
Lead me, then fool me;
Heal my wounds, then stab me;
Make me die for living my life
Light my passion, then leave me cold
Dance with me till the morning light, and then walk away!
Come come break my heart!!

The Candle

The candle
Mocks the black darkness.
A gentle breath
It flickers to evade death
It burns on
Shedding light as an afterthought;
Flickers
To burn silently,
For it lives as long as it burns
Like a pain
That becomes the pleasure of living;
The candle mocks the black darkness
And laughs a life away...

Just A Heart

A heart is very delicate,
Just like a spell;
A blink, and its broken!
It speaks only in glances,
No words,
Just pure silence.
Now and then it bleeds
And all that one sees
Are shimmering pools in moist eyes!
Once in a while it may even cry,
only to be hidden behind an empty laugh.
But every heart is lonely,
More deserted than the street round the corner.
And so it dreams,
Dreams more colourful than an artists canvas;
More fragile than a butterfly's wings.
And in those dreams
It sees its companion;
For dreams somehow shatter,
And every heart somehow breaks!

Presently

I have lived for a moment,
In a moment I will be dead.
A moment makes for all my possessions,
And a moment takes away all I have.
This moment I treasure,
For this moment will be lost.
In this moment, I dream
For it is now I no longer sleep.
This moment is when I feel
For it is now I cry my elation.
This moment is worth eternity,
For this moment,
I think of you!

The Passing

A moment passed,
A dream shattered,
A heart missed a beat,
Words were left unspoken...
A breath froze,
A world crumbled;
Somewhere,
A wave broke upon its shore,
As
Smiles gave way to tears...
A moment, had passed...

Tonight

Tonight,
The stars seem to be crying,
The breeze
Carries the spirit of a storm;
While the leaves seem not to move;
As if in protest!
Tonight,
The waves break in mounted agony,
The shining moon
Shrieks of a burning pain;
While tears form without flowing;
As if in waiting!
Tonight,
The summer night has an icy pang,
The music,
It has a deep yearning;
While life seems to be slowly dying;
As if in remorse!
Tonight somewhere,
A heart has broken...

Some

Some eyes tell it all;
Their tears reflect everything
Some smiles laugh at themselves;
Their pain always shows
Some hearts break without a sound;
Their sincerity silences them.
Some dreams shatter without a touch;
A breath is all it takes.
Some moments never melt,
Some feelings never fade;
A new heart,
Another teardrop...
And they'll live on..

Night skies

Each night I look up
And wonder;
For a simple thought startles me:
'an ocean of emptiness between us,
and miles of distance to mark it.
But somewhere,
Just this moment
Someone's eyes look up
Wondering at the night sky
Their twinkle lighting up the sparkling stars.'
A thought
That leaves me cold,
And wondering...

Child In Hiding

Somewhere deep, he is a child
Looking for love and warmth
Adult to adult, child to child.
With innocence
He searches for someone;
For his loneliness must end,
His emptiness filled.
In silence he cries like an infant,
Unconsolable, in agony!
He wants criticism no longer,
But understanding.
He seeks not a friend,
But two arms to come crying into
He needs not a teacher to show the way,
But someone who will walk beside
His heart wants to sleep longer,
And fly higher; to be heard when he is silent,
To know less, to feel more;
To just feel safe and comforted when the sun sets,
For somewhere deep, he is still a child.

Timeless Moments

There was no sound
Not a leaf rustled,
Not a breath whispered.
No birds sang,
Not a word was said.
The roaring ocean calmed,
As if wondering;
The stars seemed unusually quiet.
Not even memories knocked,
Thoughts stole by unheard;
Time stopped,
Everything froze to watch,
This moment of pure silence;
And nothing dared disturb it!

And They Danced

The music begins
The lights dim
He asks her hand
The dance of a lifetime!
The night flows
As she moves and turns
With no will of her own,
Nor none of the music;
He holds her captive
More a prisoner himself!
He looks in her eyes,
And the night freezes
Tears flow down her cheeks
As she dances in her happiness;
She weeps, for her life seems unbelievable
Her love melts from her gentle eyes
While they dance entranced
To the beatings of their hearts;
For the music had stopped long ago!
And so had their lives been lived in those moments...

Sweet Pain

Beauty lies in a wound,
That pains with every pulse of life
Every throb shivers
As blood flows out,
Drop,
By drop. . .
Unheard cries 'Life'
For somehow
Only blood and tears
Do justice to the wound
That is denied its pain!

Lost Heart

To walk at night,
Alone with the sound of your footsteps
Every shutter closed;
Moving in the darkness
Not knowing
If one is walking towards something,
Or running away!
Clinging onto dreams
When all that remains is the night,
And its accompanying silence!

Last Sunset

When the sun sets on your life
Who'll be your shadow
To walk along with
Who'll shine in the darkness
That envelops you,
For your eyes are now closing.
Who'll hear your voice down memories,
Of years that'll echo forever.
Whose life will pause
And stand still at a sunset
Reflecting in the golden waters,
Moments that weren't so alone.
Your footprints will be preserved,
Fear not their perishing;
Not in time, nor in history,
But in a single soul,
In a single heart,
That froze at a sun
That set in a single breath!

Me looking at me

The chapters in our lives get marked by the months and the years that separate them.. Flipping the pages one cannot help but wonder at the way they connect each phase.. as a string threading together pearls to give the whole a meaning.. Yet, each pearl retains its essence.. aside from the string.

I recently stumbled across a phase.. Seems distant now, but I can still feel its embrace.. very familiar, yet like a long lost stranger who was once closely known..

Reclaiming that stranger and giving it a fresh life might be futile.. but it is important nonetheless.. After all, in its own way, it is a pearl in the string..

In the next few posts I plan to bring it back from the past and provide a place in my present.. As dark as it might seem, it taught me a lot.. and it held my hand when I needed it!!
